ΣΤΓ -- Sigma Tau Gamma, It's GREEK to me!

Hey everyone! Its me again, but this time, I need to clear up some confusion! =S

The past couple weeks, as RSU's GREEK blogger, I have focused on Alpha Sigma Tau and Alpha Sigma Alpha (two sororities) and Pi Kappa Alpha (a fraternity). However, I have some good news-- the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity (STG) is an active GREEK colony on campus! So now, I have another fraternity to talk about!!

Recently...It was to my understanding that The STG's were not an organization through RSU's Student Government Association, but just this past week I was informed that they are. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding BUT I can't wait to talk about STG and about all of the AWESOME things they have been doing on campus!

The Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity is a mens social fraternity that was established back in 1920,
and has been growing ever since! You can check out their national website....

Alright.... so earlier you might have been wondering why I called The Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity on the RSU campus a"Colony" ..... It's because it is a new GREEK organization on this campus! Exciting, right?! =)
Being a colony is one of the most amazing experiences, because it means that the people that get involved in the beginnging get to make the rules, set up the basics (budget, constitution, etc.), and get to start all of the traditions for the STG fraternity of RSU to follow for years and years to come!

The fraternity is now actively looking for "founding members" of the fraternity, so if you're interested in the smallest bit I do encourage you to check out the fraternity and see what STG has to offer you!

The STG's have been qiute busy on the RSU campus as well as Nationally! The STG's recently hosted -along with the Student Art Association- the Halloween Dance, which raised over 85lbs of food for local food pantries! In the Spring of 2009 they received SIFE's recycling award! Last week the STG's were in the RSU Homecoming Shopping Cart Parade, and are now raising money for their members by selling candy bars on campus!

Also you should look forward to their upcoming event, scheuled for early December! Its going to be at the King of Clubs in downtown claremore -- its going to be a Food/Toy Drive, and it is going to be a BENEFIT CONCERT! FUN! =)
The STG's meet on Wednesdays @ 7:15 in the 2nd floor of the library! So if you would like to see a little bit more about what they do
